During her trip in January, one of our board members, Heather, and the director of the transitional home spent some time with a family that Corazon de Esperanza is supporting. This mother has four children with one on the way. Her youngest child, 2 years old, has physical disabilities and cannot walk or use both of her hands. The child also has occasional seizures. Corazon de Esperanza has assisted the mother in obtaining medical care and physical therapy for her child. Both the 12 year old son and 18 year old daughter have dedicated themselves to working instead of attending school. Her son breaks up rocks and concrete for money, while the daughter works cleaning houses. None of the children were attending school and we are working with the family to help enroll them for this year. The family is also supported by the father, who works with fertilizers.
Along with the medical care we are providing for her pregnancy and the youngest child, we have been teaching the mother about parenting, nutrional needs and sharing the love of God with her family. Please continue to pray for this family as we meet their basic needs.
